Horizon 2020 for academia: ERC

The European Research Council (ERC) is the foremost funding agency for excellent science in the EU under Horizon 2020.

The ERC has 4 grant schemes available, Starting, Consolidator, Advanced and PoC. Below you can read more about here grants and how ttopstart can help you develop the most competitive projects for them.

About the European Research Council

The European Research Council is a funding body of the European Commission which was created to boost scientific excellence of individual researchers. It specifically encourages researchers to develop high risk ground-breaking projects.

About the ERC grants

ERC Grants are so called personal excellence (individual) grants aimed to encourage the highest quality research in Europe through competitive funding, on the basis of outstanding scientific achievements. The grants support investigator-initiated frontier research across all fields of research. Based on the stage of their scientific career, researchers can apply for an ERC Starting, Consolidator or Advanced Grant. The ERC Proof of Concept Grant is intended for ERC grant holders to bridge the gap between research, (commercial) exploitation of the results and earliest stage of marketable innovation.

How can ttopstart help you with your ERC application?

ttopstart has a good track record in developing projects for ERC grants that get funded. For these applications, we first analyse the chances for success of the applicant. After a 'go', we use our FFWD method for winning grant applications to co-develop the research framework and support the writing process. We focus on the CV, impact and exploitation sections, as well as getting the grant reviewed by established experts in the field.

For ERC Proof of Concept applications, we do not only support researchers. We are also active in the project itself with our intelligence and business development services.
